Briggsdale & SASS Rules Clarification
Cowboys & Cowgirls... As you know, we in Briggsdale County, as a SASS-affiliated club, are OBLIGATED
to put on matches where "ALL SASS RULES APPLY". With SOME of the current changes to the rules,
specifically, "RETRIEVING DROPPED AMMO", we had previously expressed SOME reservations!
... but following an extensive investigation by the RENOWNED Cowboy Law Firm of Dewey, Cheatem & Howe, we have come to the following conclusion...
.. as Briggsdale County hosts cowboy shooters from many different areas of the country and from
many different SASS clubs, in order to remain consistent, "ALL SASS RULES APPLY", INCLUDING being
able to retrieve dropped ammo... as long as the shooter can do so in a SAFE manner.
OUR RANGE PREFERENCE would be to leave the dropped ammo and to reload from your person,
BUT... "ALL SASS RULES APPLY"... so you may SAFELY RETRIEVE dropped ammo in Briggsdale County...
from this day forward.

Another issue that we had Dewey, Cheatem & Howe look at was the practice of the two-handed shooters
"grounding" their FIRST pistol when empty, shooting the SECOND pistol and then re-holstering BOTH
prior to shootin' the next firearm. As "ALL SASS RULES APPLY"... this is an ACCEPTABLE practice...
AS LONG AS the pistol 'string' is not interrupted by another firearm. In Briggsdale County...
our RANGE PREFERENCE would be that... for the two-handed shooters... pistols be RETURNED TO
LEATHER AS THEY ARE EMPTIED!, BUT... "ALL SASS RULES APPLY"... you may SAFELY 'GROUND' your FIRST
pistol before you shoot the second... BUT BOTH pistols MUST be holstered before shooting youe next
firearm... UNLESS STAGE DIRECTIONS STATE OTHERWISE!
