"Almost An Annual" Briggsdale County
Chuckwagon Shoot & Swap SEPTEMBER 9, 2012

Cost $20 plus $5/ side match

Any Cowboy Action Shooting Club can have an annual shoot. It takes a special club to host an "ALMOST AN ANNUAL" summer shoot. Briggsdale County is that special club. Our "1st Almost An Annual” shoot was held on the 2nd Sunday in August, during the summer of 2010. An even bigger and better "2nd Almost An Annual" shoot was held on the 2nd Sunday in July of 2011.... and now we are planning for the "3rd Almost An Annual Briggsdale County Chuckwagon Shoot and Swap". Always searching for cooler weather, the "3rd Almost An Annual" will be held on the 2nd Sunday in September, September 9, 2012.

Okay then, what is an "ALMOST AN ANNUAL" Shoot? Imagine this: Shooters gather in their cowboy/cowgirl finery on a sunny summer morning. After the pledge and a prayer, they are off to shoot up the 6 ‘Close and Fast’ Stages of the Main Match. Then they gather under the Big Top to grab some shade, a plate of BBQ vittles and sit with one another to eat, relax and tell some stories. Soon the announcement is made to browse the swap meet for all the good deals on things you can’t live without and then you grab your shootin’ irons to try out the side shoots. Shooters can then spend the next several hours trying to beat their rivals to claim top shot of each side shoot. Winners will be rewarded. The rivalry, camaraderie and competition at the side matches are quite a sight to behold. All too soon the guns and carts are packed away in the wagons and the friendly folks head west into the sunset. A good time was had by all!

Does this sound like a good time? You bet! Make plans now to attend the "3rd Almost An Annual Briggsdale County Chuckwagon Shoot & Swap" Sunday, September 9, 2012. Registration starts @ 8AM with the FUN beginning @ 9AM. Watch the ‘Bulletin Board’ for more information!
